Well, it’s not lawyers’ fault that you need to cross that justice bridge! It’s like any other business; the bridge costs money to construct and maintain, and the lawyers spend years in school to train to become qualified and licensed justice bridge toll operators. So it stands to reason that the users should pay for these costs plus a ‘little bit of profit!’ Every business does that!! LOL
Being qualified toll operators, lawyers meticulously and ‘accurately’ log the time that you actually spend crossing the justice bridge and never charge you a penny more! Everybody has to make a living somehow; charging toll is how lawyers do it. Plus lawyers, many whom become politicians, help write very easily interpretable laws. People have just formed a habit of picking on the lawyers unnecessarily. ;-)
