Barack Obama Will be Killed because He is Black

In an interview with Stockholm daily Dagens Nyheter, Nobel Prize winner Doris Lessing expressed her fears as to what may happen if Barack Obama becomes US president.
Unfortunately, these fears are not far fetched. The possibility is real that such an incident may occur. As a matter of fact, I won’t be surprised if an attempt is made on his life even before he becomes the president. It is conceivable that some individuals or groups would be extremely upset simply because Barack Obama is black and they might try to cause physical harm to him.
Such risks and dangers should not deter either Barack Obama or anybody else from seeking the office of the president. In the history of USA, many white presidents have been assassinated for one reason or another. That does not deter white folks from seeking the office of the president; nor it should. We can not allow people with extreme views in any society to dictate to us what we can and can not do.
