I do not think necessity is the mother of invention - invention, in my opinion, arise directly from idleness, possibly also from laziness. To save oneself trouble.

That is funny and also explains why lazy people can always come up with an excellent excuse for not doing anything. But necessity indeed is the mother of inventions even if that necessity may be ‘to save oneself trouble!’
